For any beach-loving vacationer, the sun, sea, and sand are the highlights of the journey. The idyllic destination that provides all of it, is the Andaman Islands, which lies nestled in the Bay of Bengal. The island with its crystal-clear waters of the seashores, lush green rainforests, and the treasure trove of marine life awaits its visitors eagerly.
It has been a difficult journey for the most of us during and after the pandemic. The necessity of lockdown led to the aftermath of exponential growth on the ever-increasing inflation rate. The recent war has brought, even in the first world countries, a surge of prices in the commodities like energy and food due to the limitations in gas resource. This in turn, led to the highest inflation the world has ever seen in many countries.
In general, COVID has created a massive impact in all aspects of our lives. Things changed and some are drastic than the others.
I have always been a fan of games especially in elementary
and high school. Back then, everything was different. The technological
advancement we have today is just an out of this world imagination one could
never comprehend. We started mathematical and educational games through manual
and face to face kind like books or work sheets or board games and the like.

After more than a month of lockdown in the city, a much-needed retreat was needed to get away from work and the recurring pandemic anxiety. I have previously visited the road to Balamban during my first week in Cebu, around end of June, during our road trip aka food-hopping then and was greeted with same green scenery going to Treehouse de Valentine which was very soothing for both the eyes and soul. You can opt to have brunch or lunch on the way because there are loads of restaurants with amazing view which is what we did exactly.
Welcoming us in the humble municipality of Catmon, just right at the border after Carmen, is this long-standing beach resort which existed some twenty years ago. The name Huna Huna Cliff Resort is derived from the Cebuano term, “huna huna”, which means thoughts, thinking, or to think. And indeed, the place exudes where one can ponder their thoughts and simply relax with how it is situated with the beautiful scenery of cliff hanging Spanish-Mediterranean architecture overlooking the Camotes Sea.
Where do I begin? I have always loved the ocean and to be as close as it as much as possible. Because for me it is simply healing to look and hear the waves crashing. And although I know how to swim in safe spaces, I was never confident swimming in open waters. But I have always adored free divers and scuba divers alike and dreamed of one day experiencing either.
It has been exactly a year and four months ago since the Philippines declared the first General Community Quarantine, also known as lockdown depending on the level of restrictions in an area. I packed my bags with only the essentials I needed from Metro Manila and went in a heartbeat to my home province – Negros Oriental. I have seen friends who have travelled locally every now and then between that period. And although, I am tempted to do the same, I didn’t do so and just went around to see more of my home province instead.
