It has been almost two years ago since I last took a flight to anywhere, other than my home province – Negros Oriental. See, when the lockdown was announced in Metro Manila last March 2020, my sister and I booked a flight, packed all the personal and work gadgets we needed for 6 months to 1 year and went back home, leaving everything behind.
Nostalgic in a way that is why when my friend and fellow travel blogger, Ed of Eazy Traveler, who is based in Cebu invited to go to Camiguin last December, I filed my leaves at work and packed my bags immediately because I don’t even remember when was the last time I took a leave that long and I also really missed the good old days of either travel planning or spontaneous trips.
Cebu Pacific is currently the online airline operating
direct flights to Camiguin from two of its major hubs: Manila and Cebu. I
remember booking a ticket to Camiguin in 2013 that I didn’t push through due to
work schedule. And, unbelievably, it took me 8 years to finally realize that
trip!
I had a lot of apprehension travelling during pandemic. That
is the main reason why I couldn’t go back to Manila, only took as far as Cebu
last year due to personal reasons. But other than that, I wouldn’t have gone
anywhere. But with Cebu Pacific, it really felt like the good old days of
travelling. Only more efficient with much enhanced processing since pandemic
started, promoting contactless procedures:
- online check-in via mobile apps or websites
- contactless check-in via on-site kiosks
- self-bag tag kiosks at the NAIA T3
It also helps to know that 100% of their active cabin crew
are fully vaccinated and are in full PPEs, with constant disinfecting in the
aircraft with alcohol, and orderly boarding and deplaning. Check here for more
information on the updated contactless flight guidelines with Cebu Pacific for reference.

Camiguin is officially open for tourists last mid November
2021. And we arrived early December to see the island for a week. It was a trip
that is one for the books. Though it may have taken a long time to finally arrive in
the “Island Born of Fire” and the second smallest province in the Philippines, but
it was definitely worth the wait. Adventure in the island is truly limitless -- complete from reef to
ridge which includes numerous springs, beaches, waterfalls, mountains,
snorkeling or diving sites, a sunken cemetery, numerous historic ruins, and 7
major active volcanoes! See here for Camiguin trip itinerary useful for your
next travel.
What are you waiting for? Book your next trip now, and fly easy and with peace of mind with Cebu Pacific.
