Unbelievably, the trip last May to Bangkok was my first-time and it surely did not disappoint. I have been meaning to visit this city where seemingly two worlds collide – the old beautiful temple structures and the urban jungle view it offers.

My travel blogger friends and I opted to stay at Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam and gratefully so, for it is conveniently located in the centre of Bangkok’s famous Siam shopping district namely MBK, Siam Paragon, Central World, Platinum, Siam Discovery, and just 2 stops by BTS from the hotel to the Platinum Fashion Mall. In fact, my last day was dedicated to mall hopping by foot to look for affordable fashion, beauty items, souvenirs and the like.

Upon arriving from our red-eye flight, we directly proceeded to the first order of business – breakfast. And I must say, aside from the food and pastries it has to offer that sufficed our hungry bellies, the view from their breakfast area is picturesque having a full wall glass that has the ultimate panoramic view of this starting-to-get-busy city. Every day at the breakfast was seemingly a feast of offerings ready with fruits, cereal, pastries, egg, sausage and beverage selections but I especially loved their made to order crispy bacons and the noodle soup that reminds me of pho. Their free Express start Breakfast also comes in Grab & Go option.

Our modern-designed rooms are spacious, clean and quality bedding with enough space for an ergonomic workstation, coffee and tea maker, in-room safe, refrigerator, and 32-inch LCD TV. Other in-room conveniences that make you feel right at home, even when you are away are my favorite when sleeping like their black-out shades and in-room heating or ac controls. Private bath and amenities available including hair dryer, and a separate/walk-in shower.

Amazingly, it was very easy to update on social media about my stay and the places we visited in Bangkok because they got free WiFi all throughout the hotel. In fact, I was able to watch the latest Game of Thrones episode then from my hotel room. Happy kid! 😊

Other facilities available at HI Express Bangkok Siam’s rooftop garden where one can surely relax, are their rooftop 24-hour fitness center, self-service laundry facility and 10-person meeting room.

Apart from its location being at the heart of the Siam’s shopping district, it is also near some concert venues like IMPACT and Pajamangala National Stadium.
