Makati | City Garden Grand Hotel

Rainy days has come and there has been a bit of slowdown in my list of weekend town/island hopping because I am discouraged to do so when during these months. But not to worry, because when one could not travel far, you could always choose to unwind close by and City Garden Grand Hotel was a place I've been meaning to visit since I saw it listed as one of the places with scenic rooftop views.

As with every staycation, it started with the room. Since I know that City Garden Grand Hotel boasts with rooms having cityscapes from left to right, it still is a surprise how their Deluxe-King Room complements with the view outside--classy, spacious, and elegant. This room type is usually located on the 10F-29F, mine was at the 24th level. The room is complete with everything I need at hand which is particularly good because I cannot live without the coffee and tea facilities. I especially liked that I need not to have to call for an iron and hair dryer because they are readily available at their designated compartments. And on top of of those mentioned, I very much enjoyed the warm bathtub at the end of my day which was a big plus for me.

For dining, you have options to choose their Spice Cafe at the 7th floor, dine in available from 6am to 10pm daily, room service available 24 hours. This is usually where breakfast buffet is served. Unfortunately, it was not available during my stay but breakfast was even made more special being it temporarily relocated at one of their six function rooms -- Rosemary Ballroom on the 31st floor. Yep, breakfast with the amazing view. Apart from Spice, perfect for rainy days, with an equally grand view, is their Firely Roofdeck Bar located at the 32nd floor, because one can dine and unwind at the same time overlooking the breathtaking city lights of Makati/Pasig.

Quite romantic, I may say which you could enjoy better by bringing your family, friends, or loved ones. Tried their grills and beers which were recommended by the staff and gratefully so because it was a perfect pair especially with the band playing in the background. I highly recommend Saturdays because the band playing during my visit pretty much nailed the songs with different instruments.  Plus, I could not stop taking photos after sunset because they've got so many vantage points. Grills + drinks + lovely = awesome night. For the month of July, they have a special Grand Banchetto featuring Filipino-style street food which I also tried and enjoyed. See here for more info about the banchetto and Firefly Roofdeck Bar.

Last but definitely not the least highlight is their roofdeck pool area, the same 32nd floor with Firefly. For me, it is an exquisite experience of seemingly swimming with the skyscapers. It has a pool and a small portion of jacuzzi that you could opt for your liking. This is perfect location for shoots, day or night.

One can avail their promos like Rainy Days (10% discount), Last Minute (15%), Early Bird (10%), Weekend (15%), Long Weekend (10%), among others which information is available at visit their website ciygardenhotelmakati.com or reach their social media platforms: instagram.com/citygardengrand or facebook.com/citygardengrand.

Truly a weekend well spent to relax and unwind. For me, the key takeaway in every experience is the people I deal with and in this case wherein they have such patient, accommodating and welcoming staff, it makes one want to visit them again soon. Visit City Garden Grand Hotel exact location at 7870 Makati Avenue corner Durban, St Poblacion, Makati City, Philippines.
