Agos Boracay Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan

My late January and early February was a hectic one, and since I’ve been meaning to unwind and cannot further wait for summer to come, I went back to the island very close to my heart – Boracay.

It was my first time to have stayed at Agos Boracay – surprisingly a 100% Filipino, family guesthouse in the island which is strategically located and few minutes away from both Boracay’s famous white beach and Asia’s #1 kite surfing beach, Bulabog. In fact, there was a kite surfing competition during the weekend of my stay last mid-February.

My afternoon flight that almost turned into a red-eye flight was such a hassle but I immediately forgot about it arriving at Agos and was truly impressed on how cozy, spacious, and clean their rooms are. They have this "nature" vibe which you'll notice immediately because it is the very first thing that will greet you at their lobby as their accommodating staff welcomes you. According to the owner, they opted to name it with the Filipino term Agos (“flow” in English) because it depicts movement and grace which evident by their details and design.

Our first night’s deluxe room with 2 beds is good for four people already and has this unique indoor hanging garden/exhaust/clothes dryer place that I specifically like because it is cost-efficient and environment-friendly at the same time. On our second day, we moved to their best room there is, which is a loft that has a view of Malay, Aklan. I actually wished I was with my family then, because the loft is spacious enough for 6 people. And the place being distant enough from the party places made our stay private and serene with the plus of the rooftop view of both Bulabog Beach’s kite surfers and Boracay’s white beach right at the doorstep.

Breakfast is not included in their rates but they actually give it as a surprise treat for direct bookings. So best to book at their website. During my stay the surprise treat made it hassle-free for me to think where to eat during the first and important meal of the day which was located near the white beach at D’Mall.
Agos Boracay has a total of 28 rooms with the choices of: Family Room with view, Deluxe and Super Double. All of which are carefully designed with the modern Asian taste and has a unique feature of having a full- length window which can be opened. Aside from their daily rates, ranging from Php 2,700 to Php 4,000 depending on the season, they offer weekly or monthly rates for long staying guests which prices starts at Php 12,000 and Php 25,000 respectively. Additionally, they also have a rental staff house or office storage/space near Bulabog area.
