Dumaguete City

“I want you always to remember me. Will you remember that I existed, and that I stood next to you here like this?” ― Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood

Back to my home town last September of this year and while strolling from Perdices Street to my alma mater, Silliman, until finally settling at the boulevard waiting for my high school friends to arrive. I felt a piece of serenity of this beautiful view in front of me. It gave me a rush of memories, good and bad, that I shared with this town through twenty plus years. And sitting right there, waiting for the shutter to finish, I am glad knowing that wherever I may travel, near or far, this is the place where piece of my heart is. And it will remain a gem in my heart that no other cities can replace.

Some of my favorite Filipino writers are from Dumaguete, and the way they painted the place in my mind makes me want to visit soon.
