HI Washington DC is set in the heart of the downtown of Washington DC, providing an unbeatable location close to all the best things the city has to offer – famous tourist attractions, bars, restaurants and performing art centers.
The hostel both offers dorms and private rooms, and a great range of facilities you may enjoy including free breakfast, free WIFI, 24-hour reception, free local maps, tours and activities, a common room with comfortable sofas, TV room with big screen and movies, books, puzzles, pool table, guitar, computers, luggage storage, and an outside patio for seating.
Our room was a private one for two overlooking the beautiful city of Washington DC. On our second stay in the city, we experienced one fully equipped with a self-service kitchen and own comfort room.
On our second day in the city, we joined the free city tour at the Eastern Market & Capitol Hill Walking Tour. Despite of the cold and rain, we pushed through with around twenty in the group from people across Asia, Europe and America. We took some time at the market looking for great finds, both food and souvenirs are available. And met a young fellow from Israel who have been travelling after an internship from South America to America, where DC is his second to the last stop. We chatted more with few others in the tour and realized that most of them are going to New York as their last stop. We then proceeded to walk until the Capitol Hill and took some group shots. My favorite thing in choosing hostels is that you can meet interesting people, not only from different places but from different walk of life which is a breath of fresh air in terms of views, opinions and perspective.
HI Washington DC Hostel is one of the 50 unique hostels in major cities, small towns, and national parks across USA. What is interesting apart from meeting international travelers, experiencing new cultures and exploring local communities is they are making a difference through their proceeds and donation support to travel scholarships and educational programs. It is exactly located at 1009 11th Street NW, Washington DC, District of Columbia 20001.
