Malaysia | Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh, Perak via Cebu Pacific

Malaysia, vast and beautiful, has been my easy go-to country in South East Asia the past few years. It is the destination for my first international flight, where I spent my birthday week last year, and where I experienced my first ‘solo’ international trip with crossing Borneo borders, as well.

Dorsett Kuala Lumpur

Second time to experience the comforts of Dorsett and what can I say, it gets better everytime. Although we stayed for just 2 days, its prime location at Bukit Bintang is hard to beat, with just a stone's throw away from the dynamic shopping city spree and night life in Kuala Lumpur. Plus, had a sneak peek of their residences building beside the hotel. I must say, the room and pool are just the right kind of luxury you are looking for with the Petronas view!

Batu Caves Hindu Temple

Malaysia | Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh, Perak via Cebu Pacific

One of the main attractions in Kuala Lumpur and came back to finally climb its newly painted colored steps! This limestone hill which actually has a series of cave temples is a reminder of how strong Hinduism is in Malaysia's culture. The towering 42.7-meter statue of Murugan is actually one of the tallest in the world for this particular Hindu diety. Plus one could have an instant food trip or shopping at the stalls nearby with the wonderful view of some flock of birds visiting the Batu Caves grounds.

Royal Selangor

First time to visit Royal Selangor center in Kuala Lumpur and got to experience the craft of making pewters first-hand. More to this beautiful craft, admired as the world's finest, is the historical note of how this came from the time of colonial Malaya.

Wow Kuala Lumpur

Dining at Wow Kuala Lumpur, formerly known as Saloma Bistro and Theatre, for me is a must-do. It does not only offer the diverse mouthwatering cuisine of Malaysia and its neighboring Asian countries, but do wow their guests with their daily shows of multi-ethnic dances, sketches and traditional Malay wedding showcase. Completing your senses from your taste buds to the performances of Malaysia's culture.

Changkat Bukit Bintang

This one was just spontaneously added in our itinerary the last minute because the Cebu Pacific Kuala Lumpur crew do have a lot of energy! The whole day of touring around Malaysia did not drain them, in fact we got some beer in more than one bar at the popular night life street in KL -- Changkat Bukit Bintang. And oh yes, there was dancing involved until the wee hours!

The small city in Ipoh enabled us to see not only MAPS but the beautiful old structure that dates back to the early colonial British period. This northwestern city of Malaysia, known as the gateway to the Cameron Highlands, has some good cultural and historic landmarks one shouldn't miss like the Ipoh Town Hall, Old Post office, food scene at their local restaurants and hawker stalls and their secret street art with murals (similar with Penang's).

Two full days of touring around Malaysia was rewarded to the last stop in Subang Jaya, Selangor -- staycation at Sunway! What better way to end the trip than that. And not only a simple staycation but one that is seemingly a small city of its own offering a vast options for shopping spree district and Sunway Lagoon Themed Park. Their across 88-acre vicinity includes over 80 attractions from their Scream House (I kid you not when I say they have insane horror houses I ever tried), Water Park, Amusement Park, Extreme Park, Nickolodeon Lost Lagoon, and Wildlife Park.

This trip with Cebu Pacific indeed holds true to its hashtag: #MakeFirstMomentsHappen. I was not only able to revisit my favorite sites in Kuala Lumpur, I was able to discover new ones with such great company which is surely one for the books!
