It is my first time to visit the province of Romblon and I have planned to fly to one of the largest islands, Tablas. Arrived on a sunny afternoon last December and met the “habal-habal” (motorcycle) driver referred by a friend at Tugdan airport.
Off we were to the southern-most part of the island, Tablas Point, in the town of Santa Fe. It was around an hour and a half drive, three-fourth of the roads were paved along the coast of Tablas but before reaching the resort, the last few kilometers consist of challenging unpaved, some even muddy, slopes. It was a tough ride, but the scenic fields and beach views made it all worth the trip.
Finally, I was welcomed by this lovely point tucked between the beach, fields, a hill, and a lake. Located at Agmanic, Sta. Fe in Tablas Island where one could find pristine beach with vibrant blue waters. They offer a more adventurous kind of accommodation composed of spacious cabins and tents of two types: Queen and King Safari.
Mine is a 50-square-meter room with a queen size bed, a sleeper couch, dining table and terrace which boasts the view of the sea which is just a few steps away. Perfect for sundown sceneries. These tents let you experience the authentic feel of houses in the Philippines via the nipa roofing and bamboo floor. It gives you the option for walls to come down at night or put up during the day with only the screen between the view and surroundings. Giving you the ultimate island living experience which focuses on simplicity and nature. Complete toiletries are available at their outdoor toilet.
Some interesting activities you might find or want to explore while you are at the resort is join on beach games (volleyball and the like), sight-see and see the rest of Tablas via motorbike, snorkeling at the lovely beach in front, or hike the nearby hill which gives 360 degrees view of the coconut plantation, fields, and shore of Tablas Point.
They also have their restaurant which opens from morning 'til dinner time with gym equipment found on corner of the establishment.
Indeed, Tablas Point gave me a much-awaited break I needed which allowed me to study, relax, and enjoy with nothing but the sound of waves crashing against the shore.
