Abrupt Tagaytay Trip

All About the Tagaytay Trip

Note: Please bear with this, unbelievably, full of vanity post of mine. Haha :))

This abrupt Tagaytay trip was my trip loads of firsts. I arrived late last Friday at around 11:52 at Mendez Crossing where I have booked my hotel reservations at Haven Hotel. But before arriving at the hotel, since it is my first time to go to Tagaytay, I asked the bus crew to drop me at the said crossing but unfortunately he forgot to tell me so I was far from the destination where I should have been dropped. I tell you, I was very much scared because it was close to midnight and there were no nearby houses to the place where the bus stopped.  Gratefully, several co-passengers of mine stopped there too and so I asked directions in finding my hotel and they were kind enough to assist me in going there. Arriving in my hotel, I was exhausted and hit the bed for a goodnight sleep.

On the next day, I asked directions from several locals in town where the best place is for tourists to go.  And with their thorough direction I arrived at Picnic Grove where loads of people were already feasting and relaxing.  The place was great and I enjoyed taking loads of pictures of the scenery and myself, good thing I brought a tripod with me. I bought shirts and 'pasalubong' on a certain shop and did some photo taking some more. The highlights that one can see at Picnic Grove is the beautiful scenery overlooking some islets and Taal Volcano, the huts and green grass where family can eat/ cook/ play around/ relax, the very popular zip line that overlooks the cliff and the nice close to nature walks going from one place to other. You can also try their, boat trip package to Taal (which is very much expensive) and  horse back riding. There is a pool inside the vicinity but, I tell you, no one would like to go to swimming on a place like such because there are much other things you can do.

I finished walking around Picnic Grove at 5:30 just when it started to drizzle, so I immediately went to Mushroom Burger for dinner, a place where my friend told me that is a must try.  Although, when I arrived there I realized it was the same Mushroom Burger located in Katipunan that I have already tried. Haha Nevertheless, the meal was short and satisfying. I bought some chips and refreshments after and went back to my hotel. Before going to sleep I decided to watch tv and enjoyed the You've got It 2 on Channel 2.

Then the last day came, and, as usual, I woke up late so I packed my things and begun to get ready to check out before 12 noon.  I was not hungry at that time so I decided to go to the parlor and cut my hair shorter. Haha And then, I was curious of the loads of Bulalo-han in town so I tried one in Ruby Sunspot Seafood Restaurant and my curiosity was fed since the food I ordered was very delicious and affordable.  At around 3:30 pm, I was waiting for a bus going back to the Metro. I arrived safe and that ends my very first, abrupt and loads of firsts backpacking experience to Tagaytay. I must say I congratulate myself for a very memorable trip of mine, the scary night experience, the 25% asking for directions, and the control for my motion sickness especially since I was in an air conditioned bus trip when going to Tagaytay. Although, my itinerary wasn't that full packed I pretty much enjoyed my stay at  Tagaytay. That's all folks. Enjoy the pictures as much as I did in taking those.  :)

HOW TO GO TO TAGAYTAY

From the capital city of the National Capital Region - Manila, you can go to Tagaytay by taking one of the three buses located in Cubao: San Agustin, Erjohn & Almark, and Golden Dragon. The travel time from Manila to Tagaytay takes around 2 hours. You can disembark at the crossroad named Olivarez Square where establishments of different kinds can be found.

We used to live in Alabang and we always did unplanned trips to Tagaytay. I really miss that place.

Good thing by the way that locals helped you look for your hotel. Must have been terrifying to be lost at that time of the night!

It was indeed terrifying to be lost at that time of the day! I was lucky that the people I asked for directions were generous to help me too. :

Nice adventure! I kept myself awake in between wifi connections at Mcdo and 7-11 the last time I went to Tagaytay. I did not have sleeping accomodations so I have to wait for a ride to a nearby town early in the morning. It wasn't that scary for me, it was a bit challenging to stay awake with the cold breeze though...

Elal Lasola said...

Wow. That's one quite of an experience there! Haven't thought of that idea. Hehe
