Unbelievably, it is my first time to visit Singapore last January of this year. I was quite excited to see those photos I have been seeing for years now in my feed and some old faces who are now working there. Good thing, we found a place that is strategically at the heart of Singapore near to the shopping, business/entertainments districts and famous landmarks such as the Merlion and Gardens by the Bay.
Arrived on a Saturday dawn at Swissotel The Stamford and was accommodatingly facilitated by the staff to my Premier Room. I was immediately amazed this known to be newly renovated 40 square meters unit which has a contemporary and minimalist design with a fusion of Swiss and Singaporean flavor, ample space for comfort and relaxation and my favorite – unobstructed view of the city and the pool area from the balcony.
These newly renovated units include a king/double, 55 inches LED TV, free WIFI, dynamic lighting system (includes day/night lights), beauty lighting for vanity counter, Nespresso machine with TWG tea, Bluetooth speaker, universal wall plug, and multiple USB ports. I no longer need to use multiple adaptors for charging several gadgets of mine which is a big plus.
Other amenities included are free access to fitness center, minibar, electronic safe, complimentary newspapers, large work desk, iron and ironing board, hair dye, and 23-hour in-room dining. We even have our own cellphones which can be use while exploring Singapore, complete with free data access and calls! Talk about comfort and convenience, indeed.
Immediately took some snaps before ruining my bed because I need to catch some sleep and have some breakfast few hours after. Their soothing beds indeed aided for a serene slumber and was excited to try one of the two breakfast restaurant options on my first day. They’ve got Café Swiss and Kopi Tiam. For Café Swiss, it is a charming Swiss hospitality of 210 -seater dining with modern architecture which gives you an al fresco kind of dining seeing and feeling the natural skylight through their translucent walls and roof. It includes an extensive buffet with variety of Western and Asian cuisines. On the other hand, Kopi Tiam focuses on the multi-cultural flavors of Singapore perfect for locals and tourist.
Exploring the vicinity and other higher floors not only greeted me with extravagant design but awed me by the panoramic view of Singapore in a bird’s eye view. You may do so at the Equinox Restaurant or a more intimate one at JAAN. Both caters modern European cuisine.
They also got two executive lounges which are the Swiss Executive Club Lounge and The Living Room for suites guests. Aside from dining, they house some cocktail and night bars such as Bar Rouge Singapore and City Space.
Poolside and wellness area, namely Willow Stream Spa and gym, are adjacent to each other at the ground level. They also have a poolside restaurant, Alligator Pear, which serves varuious international flavors in causal tropical setting.
Swissotel is truly an ideal place for both business and leisure travelers which for me is, by far, the most technologically advanced room I ever had in my life.
Swissotel The Stamford is exactly located at 2 Stamford Road Singapore 178882, which is at Turn 9 of the Singapore Grand Prix street circuit.
