Quezon City | Seda Vertis North

 

Rainy season has long started and unwinding in the metro is what I am leaning for these days, after a seemingly long work-week. To relax and plan for future travel plans with friends is made possible last September in the city where my career started. A new staycation hub has soft-opened last April and I was glad to be able to finally visit the largest and newest addition to one of the Seda Hotels in the country – Seda Vertis North.

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon, I was kind of late for my booked massage at their in-house spa for 2:30 pm session due to the unexpected traffic. So, I immediately checked in and went directly to the 3F where facilities like spa, pool, and gym are located. But it was all worth because I was refreshed and rejuvenated after an hour with their masseuse surrounded by the scent of rose and lavender that matches their music, and lighting. The first thing I have noticed is how spacious and clean the place is starting from spa’s lobby to their waiting/changing/shower room area to their respective rooms. I am delighted to know that their spa is open not only for hotel guests but for walk-in guests as well.

Next agenda is to shower and freshen up for dinner, so I went back to my room which is a Club Room. It is equipped with modern amenities such as 40-inch LED HDTV, media panel with HDMI, USB and A/V connectivity, iPod docks, FM stereo, executive work desk, mini-bar, coffee and tea making facilities, and electronic in-room safe. It has a classy, elegant and modern structure in a neutral colors that I like most about it aside from being clean and overlooking the city with a pool view. The main upgrade of it from the Deluxe is the extra touch of exclusivity having an access to the 23F Club Lounge. Aside from the Club Rooms, they have other various kinds of rooms such as Deluxe Room, Premier Room, Corner Suites, and Presidential Suite.

Before dinner, we managed to take some shots around starting with the lobby. We were greeted with this contemporary design in muted colors with distinct Filipino sensibility which are further highlighted by some pieces, made by homegrown artists like sculptress Ann Pamintuan, furniture designers Kenneth Cobonpue and Vito Selma. One of the ig-worthy spots at their lobby is the art installation near the stairs called “Family of Giraffe.” Other finds you can see at the lobby is the solid wood communal tables with Mac computers and engaging triangular sofas complemented by center tables that resembled an outsized billiard ball.

For the dinner part, I was fortunate to be able to try their Chef’s Table which can be arranged by guests upon request. This is located at the 2F of the building which is the same floor with their 700-square meter ballroom, growing to be popular for events, conferences and weddings. The Chef’s Table on the same floor gives you sneak peek of how the intricately the food is prepared and made by their chefs. Here are the sumptuous eight-course meal served that night:

Last but definitely not the least, 

the bomb -- Chocolate ala Bomba

Everything for me was exceptional but I must say that the highlight during that night are Salmon Florentine, Braised Beef Short Plate, and my dream dessert --Chocolate ala Bomba. I think I may have to go back here when my family visits the metro again. If not at the Chef’s Table, you can enjoy your meal their restaurant, Misto, which is now offering an all-day dining. Misto is designed to show various stations of extensive buffet including delectable pastries. Same with the lobby, it has communal wooden tables that adds warmth to the dining set-up which is best shared with friends and family. They also have their soon-to-open Chinese Restaurant at the 2F.

If you wish to lounge around before or after dinner, you can also opt to go to their Straight Up Roofdeck bar or Club Lounge, for rooms with such access. At the their Straight Up Roofdeck bar, they offer a buffet of snacks while enjoying their drink of choice. On Saturdays, they also have a band that will serenade guests unwinding at the bar.

On the second, I caught more sleep and explored one of my favorite hotel facilities – the pool. Theirs is a spacious pool deck adjoining the gym and spa highlighting Filipino furniture with outdoor pool bar, seating areas, and sun deck.

Apart from modern design plus a touch of Filipino taste and hospitality, what I like most about Seda Vertis North is how it is strategically located at the growing business district in Quezon City and a neighbor to newest entertainment and retail center, Ayala Malls Vertis North, and right across Trinoma.
