Accommodations in Zamboanga

The situation when you don't reserve for rooms ahead of time because you're afraid if it will not be pushed through and lucky enough to arrive in a city when almost all of the accommodations are fully booked because it's graduation season---that's what happened to us last March 2011 when we arrived in Zamboanga.

Okay, so we actually found a cheap motel somewhere not in the city center. But one of my friends is kinda picky and so we opt to find another near the city and fits with our budget. Hence, the hotel hopping along the Mayor Jaldon St in Zamboanga.

I know I sound like a sore loser given the the Philippines has numerous festivals in a year but I really hadn't got a chance to attend another one.

I have never seen the famous Batad or Banaue Rice Terraces and I am dreaming to finally have a glimpse on them or any rice terraces for the matter. My first chance was in Kalinga, en route to the start of the white water rafting adventure we stopped somewhere to take a photo with the rice terraces there. But it was oh so far!

Occidental Mindoro | Laid Back Sablayan

Another small town of Occidental Mindoro, named Sablayan, is a place known as a boarding point to Pandan Island Resort and Apo Reef/Island. I only spent few hours there but I immediately fell in love with the towns charm because of their very helpful and accommodating people.
